A group of sanitation workers in Hamburg Germany have drilled holes into the sides of 1,100 dumpsters to make pinhole photographs as part of their Trashcam Project. The results are remarkable: photos that spy on a city and capture it off-guard. You can see all the pictures on the Trashcam Project Flickr page and a watch video (in German) of how they do it here.

Tonight is the longest night and tomorrow the shortest day for the Northern Hemisphere - Happy Yalda!
Yalda is a time when family and close friends get together to eat the last of the summer fruit and nuts and stay awake all night sharing stories, feet tucked cosily up under a warm blanket. Ancient custom held belief that staying awake most of the night was protection from misfortune.
